I am not sure why I would post updates when most (OK, all) of the readers are my kids and they already know this stuff. Maybe the updates will show a theme (family maybe?). The summer has flown by fast. I seems that it was just starting but we have to take Julie back to college next week. One of the good things this summer is that our yard is still green. My neighbors think that I must have moved. Usually my yard is completely brown and weed filled by now.
This weekend we took a short family trip for my niece's wedding in Frankfort/Tinley Park. It was a great weekend to spend with Thresa's extended family. We always have such a good time with them. And it was a real joy to spend the weekend with all of our family. There is nothing I would have changed over the past weekend.
Now today is a different story. Kel fell down the stairs at their townhouse this morning. His manager called Sara because he was late and there was no answer on his phone. Sara found him lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. I think he had been there at least 90 minutes. After an ambulance ride, they spent most of the day at the hospital. Nothing is broken but lots of bruises, bumps and pains. So keep Kel in your prayers. Pray for Sara too as she transitions from College Student to "College Grad in the real world".
Finally, this week is my annual DR Test for work. Basically, we have 48 hours to rebuilt and restore my customer's entire computer environment in a different data center. This proves that if there were a Disaster, we could Recover their business within 48 hours. So I will be working most of this time (hint: I may be tired and cranky this week) and hope to get everything working before 9AM Wed. But it is rewarding to accomplish this type of task and I am really hoping to take Friday off to just spend time not working.Actually, I may put together some bookcases that Lisa bought at Ikea. That is better than working.
