OK. I worked all day yesterday (Sunday) so I figured I can spend a few minutes today on this update. I went to mass Saturday at Epiphany's 4PM mass. I knew I had to work Sunday morning so I made sure to attend on Saturday. Thresa was in Carrollton so I just solo'ed it at mass.
Anyway, I got the giggles at mass (not unusual) when I saw Msgr go to read the opening prayer from the book. The alter server was this tiny girl and the book was almost up to Msgr's waist. I giggled wondering how he could read the book from so far away. Then I noticed them. The tiny alter server was wearing these bright, sparkly ruby red shoes. Dorothy did not have slippers this bright. The whole scene got me laughing and put me in a great mood for the rest of the weekend. This young girl probably choose to wear her special shoes to church, especially since she was serving at church and serving our Lord. I can say that the shoes were appreciated by at least one person.
My thought during Mass (and always I hope) was/is, what are my special "ruby slippers" that I bring to the Lord?

Change/Busy
This may sound odd but it is a source of pride to see the amount of change in our family. Maybe it is age or just my odd nature but change is not a burden or something to dread. Thank God that the change in our family is due to growth and goals being obtained. All happy situations and that is where the pride comes from. This weekend we saw Sara graduation from College (first to two degrees) and we saw Anna baptized. This weekend we also saw Julie end her first year of college (except for those things call Exams). Finally, it was just as great to see Lisa more relaxed and able to really enjoy herself. I see this as being due to her promotion and new roommate.
So, while it was a very busy weekend, it was a weekend full of pride for me. Good job family. Keep up the great work and keep achieving those goals that you set.
