Pain in the Butt

As you know, I have been having occasional pain in my upper thigh and lower butt. Beyond messing up my bowling a little, it is causing me to walk with a gait (I think I am using that word correctly). I am walking with a small hunchback and not standing straight. Anyway, my leg is now getting numb when I walk any distance. And the pain in my a$$ is still there too.

I went to Dr. Vales last week. The current thinking is that I may have a herniated disk on my lower back (a slipped disk).  But this will be determined during an MRI that I will have on Tuesday. I am also having some kind of nerve test on Wednesday. I don't know exactly what the nerve test is but it involved lots of needles (sounds like a fun time). Then I have another visit with Dr. Vales on Monday, June 20 to learn what happens next.

Right now, we don't know much. But at least I think there is a good plan to figure out what is happening.  The research that I have done says that the MRI will show exactly what my lower back is doing and if any vertebrae have pushed into my spinal cord. And, hopefully, we will have better understanding of what treatments I may need on June 20th.  I just figured it was time to let you know what was going on.
